Pumpkin Baby Hat

Beautiful pumpkin orange hat with green hollow stem. This crochet hat will be a perfect fall dress up item for baby girls or boys. But this hat is made to be more than just a cute accessory. The sturdy, stretchy, shapely pattern encourages babies to explore its features with their fingers: inviting them to pull, stretch, explore, and play. 100% acrylic. Made in a smoke-free environment.

Thoughts on Writing

I really want to paint or draw. It was a dull morning but I was trapped without any art supplies so I wrote a short story. It had been on my mind for a few days and it felt good to get it out of my system. Not sure if its good enough to publish, but I'm looking to publish a collection of short stories pretty soon.

I always considered myself more of a novelist. Until I went off to college. I didn't have time to work on a novel, but the potency of short stories became quite attractive to me. I could concentrate my passion into the simple building of a scene using description and imagery. Novels are a bigger, darker, world.

Daily Painting

Tonight I painted with acrylics for the soul purpose of painting.
I stopped thinking about the product and just enjoyed the process

Three Geishas

This is my Three Geishas tangle. I created some of these patterns and variations based on the template I was using for the main lines. I am happy with this one as a black and white piece, but I also want to do a geisha on painted watercolor paper. I think purples and greens would be pretty.

Painted Shoes

White canvas shoes I painted for my Godson. I'm tempted to get another pair of shoes and tangle on them. I used acrylic paints. A spray coat of varnish will protect them.

Zen Geisha

One of the many Tangled Geishas I have enjoyed drawing lately.

Great Wave Tangle

This tangle Inspired by Hokasai's  Great Wave at Kanagawa. I think coloring books are a great resource for artists to use as both inspiration and templates for creating work. I used a coloring book for this piece. I traced the lines I liked onto sketch paper and then tangled in between them.

Zen Garden

"Zen Garden" art Journal page. I usually don't like Spiders, but lately I have an obsession with drawing them into my tangles. I'm beginning to find them quite charming.

There are three insects total. I've been challenged to put a praying mantis and a ladybug in my next tangle. I suppose we will see if I can!

Medium: Watercolor paper, Holbien watercolors, Stabilo Ink pen, pencil for shading.
